Anderson Ridge Highland Cattle & Beef is a family-owned Ranch located northwest of Calgary, AB, in the picturesque foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

We specialize in raising Registered Highland Cattle Breeding Stock and Premium Beef. Our mission is to provide premium quality beef to our customers, at an affordable price, raised and processed the traditional way.
We are committed to offering high-quality Registered Highland Cattle to those in Southern, Central Alberta, and beyond.
Our Story
Highland Cattle
Our story began with a passion for farming and a desire to provide our community with high-quality beef.
While our current venture started in 2019, our families have homesteaded in Alberta as far back as 1883 in what is now Highland Park in Calgary, AB. Increasing at the turn of the 20th Century, ancestors from Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Ontario converged in Alberta to homestead in areas today known as Rimbey, Cremona, Calgary, Didsbury, Lousana, and Gull Lake.

Rimbey, named for ancestors, was originally known as Kansas Ridge, as many settlers from Kansas came to that area of Alberta around 1900. Kansas Ridge served as inspiration for us as we started our ranch at Anderson Ridge.

Scottish Highland Cattle checked many of the boxes we were looking at when considering livestock to run at the ranch. A breed known for calving ease, hardiness, calm temperament, and beef quality, combined with a nostalgia for Scotland, as many of our roots traced there, it was a perfect match.

We are fortunate to have the honour and privilege of being stewards of this majestic, largely unchanged, breed and take care to not negatively impact these qualities when making breeding decisions.
